After doing some recent reading up on the londonist website I read with interest that Four Tet has been using a new instrument in his live performances. Yamaha have created ‘a new digital musical instrument for the 21st century’ called the Tenori-On. It looks like loads of fun to play with and if anyone know anyone […]

Wow we made it, our first birthday! Woohoo! About 112 posts and nearly 2 thousand spam comments later we are still here, well most of the time. Okay so some of the ideas we have in the pipeline have yet to come to fruit but like a small baby we didn’t want run before we could walk. That […]

Well Sunday 9/9/07 was and landmark day. Little bro Josh moving out of home and off to university. So as a bit of a send off we headed to London for the Becks Fusion Chemical Brothers gig at Trafalgar Square. Man oh man… what a gig. The visuals were absolutely stunning and the Chems rocked! ;-)

WE DON’T NEED TOUTS, SCALPERS, WHORES AND MERCENARIES. WE CAN DO THIS OURSELVES. This is the strap line of the rather good website Scarlet Mist. Scarlet Mist is a face value ticket exchange service that brings togther sellers and buyers of gig and festival tickets. So if you couldn’t get that ticket to the sold out Bonzo […]

Rising from the ashes of Brooklyn’s indie rock contempories, The101, Golden City are the latest band to get ’stuck’ on repeat on my iPod. The band features The101’s lead guitarist/vocalist Eric Richter (Christie Front Drive, Antarctica) and drummer Jeremy Jones whilst enlisting the services of Jim Lehnhoff (guitar) and Chris Peterson (bass). Their debut (digital) EP has […]

You can never post too much music, especially if it’s super good. So for all those who rock the Uzi & Ari track I posted last week here’s the music video, and beautifully shot it is too. Enjoy.
Taking their name from the children of Ben Stillers character in The Royal Tenenbaums, Uzi and Ari herald from Salt Lake City, Utah and is the band formed by singer songwriter Ben Shepard. With a mixture of indie, acoustic and electronica they craft beautiful soaring tunes that gradually and gracefully unfold. They’re sure to […]

“It’s cold and snow’s actually on the ground of this no-snow town and instead of cars, street’s trafficing in sleds. Men become boys again. And there’s a war on the corner with no guaranteed winner, it’s just a snow fall of snow balls, evidence of the winter. And i can feel my hands again, we’re almost home. It’s 2 […]

Generally I hear a song and it will remind me of a place, a time, a feeling or all three. A few weeks ago I came across an artists site that had the entire back catalogue of long since deceased Denver band Acrobat Down. I’ve been searching for their tunes for a while now and after being […]

Live at the Wheatsheaf on Saturday night was the rather talented four piece band Earth Experiment. A very funky sound (especially for Leighton Buzzard) was enjoyed by all. Find out more at: www.earthexperiment.com

So how do you celebrate your birthday these days? Do you go on a traditional ‘lads’ weekend to Prague and get bolloxed on meths and Absinth and consequently go blind for 3 days? Or do you do nothing but wait in your local for the 60 year old stripper to turn up that your friends […]

Music has always played an integral part of my live and creative inspiration. Depending what kind of mood I’m in will depend what I listen too, but there are a few bands that I play no matter what. Texas is the Reason is one such band. I was introduced to their post-hardcore energetic yet emotional […]
