Waiting For….. some originality?

Chucked In Jibber Jabber, WTF?.

Rant time! I was doing the hamster impression in the gym yesterday watching MTV (with my own music playing on my headphones thankfully) when a video that looked strangely familiar came on… It was the video for ‘Waiting For’ - DJ Peter Gelderblom’s lacklustre and unintelligent bastardisation of the Red Hot Chilli Pepper’s ‘By The Way’.

The video looked familiar as I had seen exactly the same thing yonks ago on YouTube, but filmed with far more passion. The orignal was a slightly sinister game of Tag between a roller blader and some cycle couriers around London. The ‘Waiting For (something to happen)’ version was a cheesy shite version… See what you think..

This is the directors cut in colour with a legal sound track. The original original I cannot embed and was in black and white with Leftfield’s Phat Planet as the soundtrack. It kicks arse - you can view it here.

I sure hope the director of the original got some royalties….

    Shit shit shit shit shit. Why do people feel the need to shamlessly copy? And what’s more unforgivable is that they make it worse.

    It does nothing for the credentials of the copycat director. He will no doubt be going back to videos of half naked, oiled up gym ‘girls’ with powertools.

    I have to agree that its shit - hail to the original for it captures the true spirit of both beasts.
