Post-It Note(s)+Dull Building = To Do List

Posted by Adam Gettingitout on November 30, 2007. Filled under Jibber Jabber.

So you have a selection of Post-It notes laying around, what’s the logical thing to do with them? That’s right, cover the front of a building and get passer-by’s to write their ‘to-do’ lists’ on them. Great work by Illegal Art, a New York based public art collaborative.

Needing some wee small flags for your website? FamFamFam is the digital home of web developer student Mark James and has some really nice tiny icon sets available. However the flags are particularly nice and worth while downloading for those future web projects. Available in gif and png and at the best price there is who could […]

“If Apple did buildings, this would be the iPad?”

Posted by Rob Gettingitout on November 30, 2007. Filled under Design.

Okay, so we’re getting lower with this “if Apple did…” posts today but this is the award winning ‘Pad‘ in Dubai and is supposedly, and I quote, “the world’s most high-tech residential tower” and “the first cybertecture apartment building in the world.” I know what your thinking, “Cybertecture? What the hell does that mean?”. Well apparently, throughout […]

“If Apple did instruments, this is the, err, iGit?”

Posted by Sam Gettingitout on November 30, 2007. Filled under Design, How cool is that?.

This is one amazing guitar. It has already got me thinking how I could get enough money to buy one. Take a second job? Sell my telly? Give up my body for medical research ? I would even try Marmite….. The Blackbird Guitar is 30% smaller than regular acoustic guitars and develops the same volume in […]

“If Apple did housewares, this might be the iPot”

So, this is technically not graphic design/web design, but it’s design, and thats enough. Designer Joey Roth has enveiled his new tea-pot titled ‘Sorapot’. Simple, elegeant and beautifully designed, it takes tea making to a whole new level. I think i’ve just found an addition to my christmas list.

With the party season nearly upon us and off the back of last years Bling Bling style comes the next installment of Absolut’s ‘flavours’. This years theme is Disco and the GIO vodka of choice comes fanastically protected in its own disco ball esque hard shell. Not only that, the accompanying website is disco heaven and […]

Sorry, how long did you say it needed?

As a designer and a fan of all thing’s print, sometimes I go off on a tangent so extreme it takes me until next week to find my way back when creating new ideas. Croatian agency Bruketa & Zinić have pretty much gone down this route, only to find something so so sweet. It’s a annual report […]

Morgan AeroMax

I like cars full stop, and I have always loved the classic, sweeping lines of the Morgan Aero8. I admit it has it’s haters as well as it lovers but now Morgan have just announced their AeroMax. A coupe version of the Aero8 and it looks gorgeous. With gullwing boot openings and a […]

Welcome Adam

Posted by Rob Gettingitout on November 23, 2007. Filled under News.

As part of our Birthday celebrations and our ongoing plans to develop Gettingitout we have decided that we can’t do this on our own, especially with the enormity of some of the projects we would like to develop. It was an easy decision to expand the collective and introduce some new blood, new ideas and perhaps […]

Wow we made it, our first birthday! Woohoo! About 112 posts and nearly 2 thousand spam comments later we are still here, well most of the time. Okay so some of the ideas we have in the pipeline have yet to come to fruit but like a small baby we didn’t want run before we could walk. That […]

Waiting For….. some originality?

Posted by Sam Gettingitout on November 19, 2007. Filled under Jibber Jabber, WTF?.

Rant time! I was doing the hamster impression in the gym yesterday watching MTV (with my own music playing on my headphones thankfully) when a video that looked strangely familiar came on… It was the video for ‘Waiting For’ - DJ Peter Gelderblom’s lacklustre and unintelligent bastardisation of the Red Hot Chilli Pepper’s ‘By […]

For All You Designers Out There

Posted by Rob Gettingitout on November 1, 2007. Filled under Jibber Jabber.

As a designer, it is widely regarded that for every good client you have there is another handful, waiting round the corner, ready to ruin your day by massacring the brochure you have spent hours working on. However, coming the the aid of the client, with tongue firmly wedged in cheek, is the new makemylogobigger cream. Eliminate […]
