I like love gadgets! Especially those that have a life of more than half a day. My current mobile phone of choice is the Sony Ericsson W810i, brought essentially for it’s music capabilities and, in my opinion, ease of use. It also has the ability to use as a remote control when connected via Bluetooth to my Mac. However it is very clunky and doesn’t directly control specific applications, al la iTunes et al with any accuracy.
So I went about searching for something that utilises this functionality, but a whole lot better.
Enter Salling Clicker.
Hey, so I maybe about 2 years behind discovering this award winning piece of software that, still through the magic of Bluetooth, not only enables me to control iTunes independently but also Mail, iPhoto, DVDplayer, PowerPoint, KeyNote, EyeTV, Adium and a host more all through my W810i! You can even customise it to operate other applications! How cool is that?
And don’t think this is only a Mac app, there’s a Windo$e version too, so quit complaining!
“So will it work with my phone?”, I hear you holler.
With over 100 phones supported I’m sure your Walkie Talkie is begging for this baby to be installed. A free, 30-click-a-go, trial is available but at $24 a pop, about £12 in todays currency climate, it ain’t gonna break the bank either.
hmmm gadgets.

This looks uber cool - when the new Bluetooth dongle turns up I’ll give it a go - I just noticed the band playing in iTunes - Death Cab for Cutie! Awesome dude.
